Before Applying:

1. Explore Ontario Universities:
   • Attend the Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF).

Our team can help you navigate this application process, whether you’re applying to a single college or multiple institutions. Students applying to colleges outside of Ontario or internationally may have different application processes, and we will assist you based on your unique needs.

Students who wish to pursue a 2-year diploma or 3-year advanced diploma program typically apply to colleges in Ontario. However, many colleges now offer 4-year bachelor’s degree programs, similar to those at universities. College can be a great option for students who have a specific career in mind or those looking to enhance their academic credentials before applying to university.

When to Apply:

• Early Application: Apply as soon as the online application is available in October.
• Final Application Deadline: Complete and submit your application by February 1 to ensure equal consideration for programs starting the following September.
• Important Note: Popular programs may fill up quickly, so applying early is encouraged.

International Students:

• Some colleges accept applications through OCAS, while others may require you to apply directly to the college.

Our Recommendation:

• One or Two Colleges: Apply directly to each college.
• Multiple Colleges: Apply through OCAS for a more cost-effective option.

When applying to universities outside of Ontario, you will need to apply directly to the institution. The application fee typically ranges from $90 to $120, and there may be additional costs for residence or specific programs like commerce or pharmacy.

If you are also applying to Ontario universities, it’s important to submit your OUAC application first. Once done, you will receive a reference number, which should be included in your applications to universities outside Ontario. This ensures your academic records are sent directly from Vaughan College to those schools.

Applying to U.K. universities involves planning, research, and meeting important deadlines. Most applications are submitted through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).

Key Steps:

1. Create a UCAS Account: Use the UCAS website to manage your application, track progress, and receive updates. The UCAS application fee is typically around £22 for a single course or £26.50 for multiple course applications. Be sure to pay the fee when submitting your application.
2. Consult Your Guidance Counselor: Discuss your options early to ensure all documents and your personal statement are prepared correctly.
3. Prepare Required Documents:
   • Personal Statement: Highlight your passion and qualifications for the course.
   • Academic Transcripts: Provide your Ontario Secondary School Transcript (OSST).
   • References: Secure a strong academic reference from a teacher or counselor.
4. Research Universities and Programs: Explore options using tools like the UCAS university search.

Important Deadlines:

• Applications Open: Mid-September
• Oxford and Cambridge Deadline: Mid-October.
